Our Vision

At Stonemill Church Atlanta, our name tells our story.

S.T.O.N.E.S.

We are Living Stones (1 Peter 2:5), and God is the Millstone—shaping, refining, and defining us into a new creation. Each letter in S.T.O.N.E.S. represents a conviction that guides how we live, serve, and love as a church family.

S –
Sincerity

“So get rid of all malicious behavior and deceit. Don’t just pretend to be good! Be done with hypocrisy and jealousy andbackstabbing.”
— 1 Peter 2:1 (NLT)

We are committed to a culture of authenticity and truth—free from deceit, hypocrisy, and falsehood. Sincerity means being real with ourselves, honest before God, and transparent with one another.

• No pretending: We deal with sin and brokenness openly and in grace.
• No hidden agendas: What you see is what you get.
• No masks: We walk in the light as He is in the light (1 John 1:7).

T –
Temple Builders

“You are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests... you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God.” — 1 Peter 2:5 (NLT)

God calls us to be more than attendees—we are builders in His Kingdom. As Temple Builders, we:

• Strengthen God’s work within us through spiritual growth.
• Strengthen God’s work in our church by offering our time, talent, and treasure.
• Strengthen God’s work in the world by serving and sending.

We are bridge-builders, bringing others to Christ and offering ourselves as living sacrifices (Romans 12:1).

O –
Open-Armed

“Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God’s people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God’s mercy.” — 1 Peter 2:10 (NLT)

We welcome people from every language, race, and nation—just as God welcomed us through His mercy. Our unity in Christ celebrates diversity without demanding uniformity (Ephesians 4:4–6).
We are open-armed to the rejected, hurting, broken, defeated, and marginalized, creating a safe place to encounter Jesus.

N –
Notable

“...for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God...” — 1 Peter 2:9 (NLT)

We want our community to take note—not because of us, but because they see Jesus in us.
Being notable means living in such a way that God’s goodness is unmistakable:

• Serving public schools, mentoring students, and helping families in need.
• Partnering with ministries like MUST Ministries, Operation Christmas Child, and local outreach partners.
• Radiating God’s marvelous light (Philippians 2:15).

E –
Engaged

“Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors... they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God...” — 1 Peter 2:12 (NLT)

We are not spectators—we are active participants in God’s mission.
An engaged church:

• Learns God’s Word and applies it.
• Proclaims the gospel with courage.
• Models Christlike living.
• Serves our community in practical, compassionate ways.

Our goal: That our community and beyond give honor to God when they see His Church in action.

S –
Supportive

“Respect everyone, and love the family of believers. Fear God, and respect the king.” — 1 Peter 2:17 (NLT)

We stand with and for one another. Being supportive means:

• Loving the family of believers in action, not just in words.
• Providing resources, training, and help to other churches, missionaries, and ministries.
• Encouraging leaders, lifting burdens, and sharing in God’s work together.

S.T.O.N.E.S.

Vision is more than words—it’s a way of life.

RELATIONSHIPS • EQUIPPING • AUTHENTICITY • LEGACY
We invite you to:
“As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him—you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house...” — 1 Peter 2:4–5 (NIV)
Be a living stone. Be part of what God is building.
